Jumādā al-Awwal

The miraculuous battle of Mut'ah took place in this month. The Companion Sayyidina Zaid bin Harith was chosen to lead this battle. The Prophet ﷺ said: “if Zayd ibn e Haarithah is wounded, let Jafar ibn Abi Taalib succeed him. If Jafar is wounded, let Abdullah ibn Rawaahah, succeed him.”(Al-Bukhari and Muslim)It was a miraculous fight between 200,000 Roman and Arab troops against the small army of 3000 Muslim soldiers. However, Allah granted victory to the Muslim army against the Romans. Every year, in this month, Habib 'Umar bin Hafiz travels to Jordan to visit the blessed graves of the Companions who were martyred during this battle and encourages us to strengthen our connection to them, by visiting them.
